Emotional Freedom Technique

Here’s a demonstration of the EFT or “tapping” technique we use. There are other ways of doing this which tap into other places on the body, but we have found that keeping it simple works for most of the issues we want to address and release.

More and more research is showing how valuable a tool EFT is becoming in getting to the root of our emotional anchors. Tapping is becoming a go-to automatic process used in daily life as emotions rise and conflicts occur. The tapping points are aligned with the meridian points in our body which can carry energy throughout the neural network to our cells. See Tapping Points meridian chart below.

Why Use EFT?

Learning to love and accept yourself as you are, complete with valid emotional reactions to what life brings you, is a healthy way to deal with your emotions. When you approach them this way, you can move closer to habits of self-mastery – not by denial, but by embracing, managing, and even separating yourself enough from strong emotions to be able to look objectively at them and choose what to do with them. That gives you back the power to live a more intentional purposeful life, avoiding the self-sabotage that can unconsciously bury itself deep and cause unintended behaviors or results, even patterns that keep you stuck.

Emotional Freedom Technique can be used as a basis to help release strong emotions embedded in your cellular memory – not by erasing the memories of trauma, but by calming the reactions and unconscious results that not dealing with the intensity of them can bring.

Combining this with reframing the emotional events and exploring further what beliefs and meaning you gave it at the time, often with limited understanding from a reactive part of your brain, can lead to amazing automatic results. This process can release you to live a higher, freer life and make different more empowering decisions to move forward in formerly blocked areas where you felt stuck or helpless to change or move forward.

Let’s get you emotionally free and living a purposeful, powerful, joyful life starting today!

For more information on the research around it and how this works, check out the link below.  Dr. Mark Virkler goes into depth on how EFT works, especially from the Christian perspective. He also has a great list of links I would also include, so no reason for me to duplicate them here.

Dr. Virkler includes links to the originator of the modern day EFT method, Gary Craig, as well as to neuroscientists and energy research studies around this technique. A Christian therapist who has written a book on this technique and its effectiveness is also listed as a further resource there.
